MUSIGA pays insurance premiums for aged musicians – Abena Ruthy 

Abena Ruthy, the second Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has outlined some initiatives the association is embarking on to help improve the lives of its members.



MUSIGA, the Musicians Union of Ghana, has initiated a program to cover insurance premiums for its elderly members, with the premiums being fully paid by the union. The union has a partnership with SIC Life, allowing members to access insurance packages. Additionally, MUSIGA manages the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF), which is funded through events and donations. The fund aims to support elderly musicians, with MUSIGA covering their insurance costs once they reach 60 years of age.
