MUSIGA pays insurance premiums for aged musicians – Abena Ruthy

MUSIGA, the Musicians Union of Ghana, has initiated a program to cover insurance premiums for its elderly members, with the premiums being fully paid by the union. The union has a partnership with SIC Life, allowing members to access insurance packages. Additionally, MUSIGA manages the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF), which is funded through events and donations. The fund aims to support elderly musicians, with MUSIGA covering their insurance costs once they reach 60 years of age.
